What is an ARNP? An advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) is a registered nurse who has advanced education and clinical training in a health care specialty area such as pediatrics, family practice, women's health, or geriatrics. All ARNPs have passed a certification exam in their specialty area and are licensed to independently perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, and provide health and wellness education. In the state of Washington, ARNP’s are independent practitioners that practice under their own license.
Carolyn Freed, ARNP received her ARNP degree in 2000 and has been a RN for over 21 years.
Education:
- Graduate degrees from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu in 1991 and the University of Washington in Seattle in 2000.
- Undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College/Samuel Meritt School of Nursing in Oakland, California in 1987.
